We just finished a major feature update to Approver.com which includes a number of improvements and bug fixes. Total downtime this morning was about a minute and a half.
Our big new feature in this release is Approver.com Workgroups. This is a pretty important rethinking of how Approver.com works. In the past, everything was centered on the notion of inviting people to review a document. With workgroups, we focus more on people working together to get things done.
To collaborate using an Approver.com workgroup, first create the workgroup, then invite people to join it. Documents you add to the workgroup are automatically accessible by all members of the workgroup. The reverse is also true: when the workgroup owner removes someone from the workgroup, that person loses access to all the documents in that workgroup.
We’ll publish some additional information about how to use workgroups in the coming weeks to help you get started working with them. We are also planning some exciting new features for workgroups in the future.
Today’s release also fixed a few bugs and added some cosmetic improvements. If you’ve tried to manually enter or edit your contacts in the past few weeks, you’ll find that things work in a more satisfying manner now. We also revamped the menu that you see at the top of the page to make the links easier to click.
